How the Tier System Works
| Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| T0 | Meta-defining. No obvious weaknesses. Priority pulls for optimized accounts. |
| T0.5 | Excellent. Strong in almost every situation. Tiny gap below T0. |
| T1 | Solid. Real strengths but comes with conditions: skill ceiling, niche role, or specific playstyle. |
| T1.5 | Decent. Pulls its weight with the right team around it, but rarely the reason a run works. |
| T2 | Viable. Clears content, but outclassed in harder endgame. No character sits at T2 in Version 1.3. |
| T3 | Situational. Limited ceiling or very niche role. Still functional in the right team. |
Keep in mind that NTE is an action game where each character has a distinct playstyle, difficulty level, and unique mechanics. It is also a team-based game — a character's true potential only comes out when combined with the right partners and played at a high level. Why Each Character Is Where They Are
One line per placement. Click a name for the full build — arcs, modules, teams and awakening priority.
T0 — Meta

ChaosLakshana
Lakshana Main DPS with the most reliable on-field damage of the permanent roster. What's Desired arc and Street Boxer modules make the build simple, and Chaos Remora Bomb with Zero, Hathor and Haniel is the T0 team he anchors.

LacrimosaChaos
Chaos Main DPS whose Nightmare stacks keep damage ticking between rotations. The Last Rose arc and Diabolos modules, and the natural Scorch partner for Zankou.

ShinkuCosmos
Cosmos Main DPS with the best CRIT scaling on the roster. Surging Crimson opens a huge single-target burst window, strongest next to Hathor, Zero and Iroi.

ZankouIncantation
Incantation Main DPS whose Reality/Illusion swaps spread damage-over-time across the field. Ravenous Blade is her signature arc, and her 1.3 kit lets Scorch stack with Lacrimosa.

LinkoAnima
Anima hybrid built around follow-up attacks: her Redirect Skill calls a teammate, or her ghost Xiaozhen, to strike with her. Voice of the Voyager is her signature arc, and she enters at T0 with the Version 1.3 Phase 2 banner.

ZeroCosmos · A6
Instant Cycle chains Appraise and Engrave into Divide by Zero for clean multi-hit Cosmos AoE, with passive team HP recovery on top. Ranked at A6.

IroiAnima
Healer-buffer whose every heal raises the team's DMG dealt through The Wrong Gate — the best support for Shinku and any Cosmos hypercarry team.

SakiriIncantation
Pulls, devours and suppresses mobs while buffing Incantation damage — the support slot in both Zankou Scorch and Lacrimosa Quickswap.
T0.5 — Excellent

NanallyAnima
Anima follow-up Main DPS. Ichi-daime's Authority amplifies every follow-up hit, and she has stayed top-tier in every content type since launch.

DaffodillChaos
Best Break damage in the game and works in every content type; needs teammates' Support Skills to build Resonance before Finale.

HotoriCosmos
Burst DPS and buffer in one slot: World's Tide stops time and replays recorded ally skills, enabling whole team archetypes with Zero and Nanally.

HanielPsyche · A6
Permanent A-rank buffer with a persistent Base-ATK team bonus through Hootie. The buffer in Zankou Scorch, held back only by low personal damage.
T1 — Strong

BaicangIncantation
Highest single-target ceiling on the permanent roster, but Power Words cost his own HP and want a full Judgment of Autumn setup to pay off.

ChizCosmos · A6
Dropped from T0 to T1 this patch: still the highest damage ceiling in the game once the Grain economy is mastered, but only at A6 and only with clean execution.

FadiaPsyche
Tank and healer in one slot, redirecting damage through Destructive Experience — excellent for survival content, low damage share.

HathorLakshana
Lakshana burst-damage hybrid. Emergency Delivery summons the thorn motorcycle for big AoE and generates team energy, a staple next to Shinku.

JiuyuanAnima
Revolver control unit that compresses Sub-DPS, crowd control and healing into one slot — fits almost any team.

AdlerIncantation · A6
Best shielder on the roster with solid DoT on top. Karma stacking is slow, and the shield is what you bring him for.
T1.5 — Decent

AureliaPsyche · A6
Free Psyche Main DPS whose Crescendo passive stacks ATK on every hit. Competitive in a Psyche team, outscaled by the limited carries.

MintAnima · A6
Durable on field with a fun multi-phase ultimate chain. Ranked at A6, where she clears most content; the damage still trails the limited carries against endgame HP pools.

SkiaLakshana · A6
Fang Thrusts auto-track and lock several targets for strong crowd control; damage sits behind the S-rank Lakshana options.
T2 — Viable
T3 — Niche

EdgarCosmos · A6
Reliable healer with Wild Current sustained recovery; pure healing is rarely needed once Iroi or Jiuyuan are on the account.
How We Rank
- 01Placements weigh three things: kit strength at realistic investment (signature or best permanent arc, at the awakening level shown on each portrait: A0 for most S-ranks, A6 for A-ranks, Zero and Chiz), team flexibility (how many T0 teams the character slots into), and performance across the endgame modes rather than story content.
- 02Every placement links to the build page it is based on, and the awakening level behind each placement sits on the portrait. Columns split the roster by role: DPS, Hybrid (damage plus utility in one slot) and Support. Teams are ranked separately on the team tier list.
- 03The list is revised at every version and every character release; the date under the title is the last time a placement or a note changed. Rankings are our own analysis of official kit data from Hotta Studio and hands-on play, not a community vote.

NTE Tier List — FAQ
Who is the best character in NTE in Version 1.3?
Eight characters hold T0 in Version 1.3: Chaos, Lacrimosa, Shinku and Zankou as DPS, Linko and Zero (ranked at A6) as hybrids, and Iroi and Sakiri as supports. Linko is the newest T0 addition, released September 9, 2026 with the Version 1.3 Phase 2 banner.
Is Linko worth pulling in NTE?
Yes. Linko is a T0 Anima hybrid built around follow-up attacks: her Redirect Skill calls a teammate, or her ghost Xiaozhen, to strike with her. Voice of the Voyager is her signature arc. Her banner runs September 9 to September 30, 2026, alongside a Hotori rerun.
Is Zankou worth pulling in NTE?
Yes. Zankou is a T0 Incantation Main DPS who swaps between Reality and Illusion states to spread damage-over-time across the field. Ravenous Blade is her signature arc and best-in-slot, and she anchors the Zankou Scorch team with Lacrimosa, Haniel and Sakiri.
Is Shinku still worth pulling in NTE?
Yes. Shinku is a T0 Cosmos Main DPS in Version 1.3 with exceptional CRIT scaling — her Surging Crimson burst window deals massive single-target damage. She is a limited character, so pull her on a rerun if you lack a top Cosmos carry, and her best team is Shinku Charge with Zero, Hathor and Iroi.
What is the best team in Neverness to Everness for Version 1.3?
The strongest Version 1.3 team is Zankou Scorch: Zankou as Main DPS, Lacrimosa as Sub-DPS, Haniel as Buffer and Sakiri as Incantation Support. Shinku Charge (Shinku, Zero, Hathor, Iroi) and Chaos Remora Bomb (Chaos, Zero, Hathor, Haniel) are the top alternatives.
How often is the NTE tier list updated?
With every NTE version and every new character release. The current ranking reflects Version 1.3 and was last updated on September 10, 2026, when Linko was placed at T0 the day after her release. Placements come from our own kit analysis and hands-on play, not a community vote.
Should I pull for meta or for fun in NTE?
Pull for fun first. Meta changes with each patch and new character releases. A character you enjoy will consistently outperform a meta pick you are forcing. That said, Zankou and Shinku are both top-tier and enjoyable to play.
